Experienced Hairdressers

We welcome conversations with experienced, licensed hairdressers who are looking for a professional salon environment, a supportive team, continued education, and the opportunity to build a lasting career.

You do not need to bring a substantial clientele to be considered. We are interested in the complete professional: your technical foundation, communication skills, willingness to learn, ability to work as part of a team, and commitment to caring for guests.

Mouton's Protégé Program

Every hairdresser who joins Mouton's completes the Protégé Program.

For newly licensed professionals, the program provides a comprehensive path from cosmetology education into the working salon environment. Participants develop through practical experience, observation, structured education, demonstrations, written testing, practical testing, and direct support from experienced members of our team.

Experienced hairdressers also complete the program, although their pathway may be abbreviated according to their background, technical ability, and demonstrated proficiency. Experience is respected, but every stylist must learn and demonstrate the language, processes, consultation standards, service expectations, guest-care practices, and culture that define Mouton's.

The program extends beyond technical ability. It includes communication, consultation, hospitality, time management, teamwork, professional standards, and the understanding that every guest is a salon guest.

Cosmetology students may interview with Mouton's before graduation. However, a current cosmetology license is required before formally entering the Protégé Program.

After demonstrating proficiency through written and practical assessment, participants receive a certificate of completion from the Mouton's Protégé Program. Learning continues through dedicated quarterly education and demonstrations provided every other month by our manufacturing partners.

Our purpose is not simply to prepare someone to work behind the chair. It is to develop confident, capable, thoughtful professionals who understand what it means to represent Mouton's and are prepared to build sustainable careers.

Reception and Guest Experience

The Mouton's experience begins before a guest ever sits in a stylist's chair.

Our reception and guest-experience professionals provide the first welcome, assist with scheduling, communicate service and pricing information, support the flow of the salon, and remain attentive to guests throughout their visits.

These positions are well suited for people who are warm, articulate, organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and able to manage details without losing sight of the person in front of them.

Salon experience is helpful, but genuine hospitality, professionalism, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn are equally important.

Learning and Professional Development

Learning has always been central to Mouton's.

Our team participates in dedicated learning experiences throughout the year, including quarterly education and demonstrations provided every other month by our manufacturing partners. Team members also benefit from the experience and perspective of professionals who have spent decades practicing, teaching, and advancing the craft of hairdressing.

Education at Mouton's includes more than techniques and trends. We continually develop the communication, consultation, hospitality, leadership, and professional skills that contribute to a strong career and a consistent guest experience.
