Teresa founded Mouton's in 1987 with a vision for a salon built on excellent hairdressing, continued education, professionalism, and genuine care. Her influence has extended far beyond the salon: her work has been published more than 5,000 times, and she has taught thousands of hairdressers throughout her career.
Bruce met Teresa six months after she opened Mouton's and became formally involved in the business less than a year later. They were married 11 months after meeting, beginning a partnership that would shape both their lives and the future of the salon.
Before joining Mouton's, Bruce's professional experience included grocery-store management, high-end hotel management and guest services, finance, and marketing. Over the years, his responsibilities at the salon have included operations, strategy, marketing, people development, and facility management.
Teresa and Bruce have always been equal partners with very different responsibilities. Teresa has remained the creative force, educator, and founder at the heart of Mouton's. She continues to work behind the chair, bringing nearly four decades of experience, teaching, and technical perspective to the guests she serves. Bruce has helped develop the structure, strategy, people, and environment needed to support her original vision and carry it forward.
Of everything they have built together, they are most proud of the people whose lives have intersected with Mouton's, the guests who have trusted them, the professionals who have grown through the salon, and the relationships formed throughout nearly four decades.
Outside the salon, Teresa and Bruce share a love of travel and the perspective that comes from experiencing different people, places, and cultures. Their faith continues to guide many of their decisions and their understanding of leadership, responsibility, and service.
As they look toward the future, their purpose remains the same: to continue building a place where people are valued, professionals are developed, guests are genuinely cared for, and making a difference in lives is not simply a slogan, but a real and continuing possibility.
